Mantra for Christmas: buy less crap!

With everybody reaching for my dollar I try to buy less crap. Yes, crap. Crap in my book is stuff that doesn't last and breaks quickly.

So by buying quality I assure usefulness of an item for years to come, and not becoming another 2 points in my trash can.

Disappointments this year have been GoPro Hero 3 Black - sometimes it works, then it doesn't, batteries heat up and get drained when not in use, RAW mode is dropping frames and hanging, what's going on? Have baked crap that could have been gold if it was done right. Good help is hard to find these days.

Good find was an old Spectroscan machine that works like a champ after years of disuse. Quality when new is quality when old too.

Mixed feelings about Nintendo 3DS XL - works as advertised, but I just don't want to carry another thing with me and play my most games on my iPhone 4s.

The biggest albatross has been my Kayak. Yeah, it is awesome when being used, I just haven't used it much. For the money spent, I wish I was getting more out of it. Let it be a lesson to me - think things through. On the positive, I could sell it and get most of the money back but that's not happening as I am still in love with it. It will pass...
